About Me

First things first, introductions. My name is Florence Cook, I am 22 years old and a recent graduate of Durham University with a degree in History. I am an aspiring singer and writer (why pick only one?) whose passions include pizza, books, television and musical theatre – not necessarily in that order.

If you are a lover of the last member of that list then you are definitely in the right place. Whilst I will never limit myself to writing on only one topic, this blog primarily combines my two passions, musical theatre and writing. One of my favourite things to do is review any West End productions I am fortunate enough to see as well as my progress through the movie musical box set I got for my birthday last year. You can find all this under the Reviews section.

Currently I am on a year-long break from studying after university where I am pursuing several projects and opportunities. One of these involves working at my local radio station, Radio Verulam, on the Drivetime show. (Check out my traffic reports Thursdays from 4-7pm on 92.6 FM!) Another is being part of the City Academy Musical Theatre Company and we will be putting on a production of Legally Blonde – The Musical at the Polish Theatre in Hammersmith in July of this year! I hope to document some of these exploits on my Blog in the coming months.

For my past journalistic work take a look at the Portfolio section for articles I completed for The Telegraph, the Herts Advertiser and university publications.

Take a look around and please let me know what you think!

Oh and you can follow me on twitter @floodette

Thank you,
